A Poem for my Ex Love

This is a poem that I thought everyone that had an ex love could benefit from. I've known this guy for about 7 years and I thought that he was going to ask me to homecoming, but he didn't. Be nice, it's my very first poem.

How can you do this?
When all I’ve ever done is be there for you
We were friends
I wanted something more
I wanted to be loved
By you

How can you do this?
When I comforted you
For all these years
When your friends
Would beat you down
I was there
To help you up

How can you do this?
Do you even care anymore?
I thought you would ask me
But you didn’t
You dropped me
And asked someone else instead

How can you do this?
You hurt me
All this for nothing
You don’t care about me
Yet I still do
All you had to do was ask
For my hand
Instead of hers

How can you do this?
When I’m down
You apologize
But I don’t believe you
Because you don’t care anymore

How can you do this?
Now I’ve found someone else
I sense that you’re jealous
It doesn’t matter
I love him more
Thanks to you
All you had to do was ask
